- Navigation: utilize a compass to run an advanced navigation course underwater
- Peak Buoyancy/Low Visibility: continue to perfect buoyancy while diving trim in low visibility areas you have never explored before
- Wreck Exploration: visit sunken treasures in detail, learning to create a mental map both inside & out
- Deep Dive: check out depths you have not yet seen taking your diving proficiency to the next level
- Search Dive: Assist Government Agencies (that we made up) in finding vital items lost somewhere underwater
- Recovery: Put all your skills together to safely retrieve an item from underwater using a lift bag & possibly saving the world in the process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Seriously? You want to be an "Advanced Diver" & don't own SCUBA gear? No, technically you don't have to, however, gear for this class is NOT included. We will include tank use and some weights with the class. We have rental packages available, but students in SCUBA Diver Class get first priority. Just buy some gear, honestly we are kind of embarrassed for you at this point... Regardless of the time of year, water temperatures require a 7mm wetsuit. You will need: 7mm wetsuit BCD & Regulator, and all of your personal gear (mask, fins, boots, snorkel). You may want: Hood (we have some available to borrow) Gloves (gloves are considered personal gear & are not rented so you would need to purchase). We do not transport gear to the quarry, you will need to pick up any rented gear from the shop & bring it with you.
Minimum is 15 years of age by the water phase of the course. Junior certification for ages 10-14 years is allowed. Certification as a NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver or the equivalent is required.
You must register & complete a waiver for the weekend with Gilboa. That waiver can be found here. Gilboa also charges admission fees per day, details can be found here. When you arrive, staff will be onsite to assist you with signing in & answering questions. Your waiver should be complete before arrival. When you check in you will need to pay for 2 days of diving as well as purchase 2 air fill tokens so your tanks can be refilled at the end of the day. Food & coffee is typically available but we recommend packing something easy for lunch. Bring a swimsuit, you will get wet on this ride (yes, someone forgot this once). Sure, why the hell not. We will just tell the other students that your schedule is our highest priority [do you hear the sarcasm?]. No, these are public classes with set schedules, however, if you do need an experience that matches your schedule, private instruction is available for an additional cost.
Rescue Diver Class is the normal progression after this course. You may choose to add on a specialty delving deeper into one of the types of diving introduced in this course and at this point you should also be considering Nitrox class as well.
Medical Requirements
We are not doctors, we teach SCUBA
As we cannot answer questions on specific medical conditions or questions, every student must complete a medical statement. Please answer it honestly.
Read the instructions on the form. Your self reported answers will determine if a physician's approval is required prior to diving. Once we receive the notification of your completed waiver, we will contact you if a physicians approval is required.
We are NOT PERMITTED by the training agency to allow any in-water training without physician's approval if such approval is required. We encourage you to complete this form as early as possible to ensure adequate time is available should you need to obtain approval.
