Where learning to dive begins.

How We Teach
E-Learning
Utilizing NAUI's e-learning system, informative videos, section quizzes & detailed information gives you the basics of how to dive safely.
- Completed at your own pace, designed by NAUI.
- Make some popcorn, its not required, but popcorn is good.
Class Learning
Once e-learning is complete, brief class discussions are held prior to each day of in-water training to review the important topics, discuss missed final exam questions, and most importantly, share real world experiences. This class time ensures total comprehension of all the material that was presented.
- Bring questions; this is an interactive discussion.
Practical Learning
in your facilities pool, the learned theories are put into practice as you learn the necessary skills to become a certified SCUBA Diver. Small class size ensures everyone gets individual attention & a bespoke experience.
- 3 Pool Sessions
- Bring a swimsuit, you will get wet on this ride.
Frequently Asked Questions
No, this the first of two parts to obtaining your SCUBA certification. After completing this course, you must perform "Check Out Dives" demonstrating required skills. This can be completed with us at a nearby quarry or we can write a referral so you can perform them at destination dive centers.
10 to 14 years old for Junior Certification, 15 years old for standard certification. Novice level swimming ability. The course will require you to swim 3-4 lengths of the pool unassisted, tread water for 10 minutes & swim 50 feet underwater on a single breath with no push off or dive. Students are also required to have a SCUBA quality mask, open-heel fins, boots, and snorkel.
Of course. Sometimes instructors get sick (yes, we are not invincible). If your faclility has an outdoor pool, sometimes it rains. In the event of an outdoor pool facility, back up dates are pre-scheduled (see the handout from your facility). If those get rained out or class is cancelled for another reason we will work with the facililty to reschedule or we may add you to one of our public classes held at another location. If none of that works we may just put you in a bathtub for practice.
No. Every aspect of SCUBA education is vital for your safety. We require you to attend all scheduled sessions.
Sure, why the hell not. We will just tell the other students that your schedule is our highest priority [do you hear the sarcasm?]. No, these classes were coordinated with your facility and have set schedules, however, if you do need an experience that matches your schedule, private instruction is available for an additional cost.
No. Included in the course fee, you will be supplied with a buoyancy compensation device, a regulator, a tank & any needed weight. You WILL NEED what is referred to as "personal gear" including SCUBA rated mask, fins, boots & a snorkel. Economical solutions are available for purchase.
No. Just no. Common sporting-good gear is not acceptable for SCUBA diving. We are going to teach you how to survive underwater and those toys need to be of a certain quality. Trying to kick in SCUBA gear while wearing sporting-goods fins doesn’t work. They will just bend from the stress. Don't believe us? Try it, but let us get the camera ready first.
Medical Requirements
We are not doctors, we teach SCUBA
As we cannot answer questions on specific medical conditions or questions, every student must complete a medical statement. Please answer it honestly.
Read the instructions on the form. Your self reported answers will determine if a physician's approval is required prior to diving. Once we receive the notification of your completed waiver, we will contact you if a physicians approval is required.
We are NOT PERMITTED by the training agency to allow any in-water training without physician's approval if such approval is required. We encourage you to complete this form as early as possible to ensure adequate time is available should you need to obtain approval.
