Dive the Northeastern Caribbean
The Saba – St. Kitts liveaboard itinerary combines spectacular diving with optional island access, creating a unique tour within the liveaboard industry. You can explore a wide variety of sites in Saba Marine Park. A dormant volcano, the island’s jagged topography above the sea is mirrored below in dramatic sites. Divers will also discover the island of St Kitt’s intriguing Southern shores. Venture along finger reefs, vibrant wrecks, and unique coral labyrinths that will capture your imagination.
Giant stride directly from the liveaboard directly onto the dive site, offering easy access to some of the Caribbean’s most favorite wrecks and reefs. If you haven’t discovered the Northeastern Caribbean before, you’d better put it on your must-do list!
Diving Highlights
Divers will enjoy:
- Up to 27 dives, including night diving
- Saba Marine Park (protected since 1987)
- Dramatic sites with pinnacles & underwater seamounts
- Finger reefs & coral labyrinths
- Popular wrecks & historic relics
- A surge of macro-life on night dives
- Sightings of nurse sharks, reef sharks, turtles, eagle rays, sea horses, frogfish, sailfin blennies, batfish, and more. Occasional dolphins and hammerheads too.
Saba, the Unspoiled Queen, is known for its offshore pinnacles and deep underwater seamounts. The 5 square mile top of a dormant volcano, it towers 3,000 feet (914.4 m) above the surface surrounded by warm volcanic sand. The abrupt and jagged topography above the sea is mirrored below, with dramatic dive sites and a profusion of marine life that attests to the early institution of the Saba Marine Park ‘SMP’ in 1987. Saba is Caribbean diving at its best. Favorite dive sites include Diamond Rock, Man O’War Shoals, Custom’s House, Tent Wall, Tent Reef, Ladder Labyrinth, Torren’s Point, and Third Encounter (The Needle/Eye of the Beholder). Common marine life sightings include curious nurse sharks, reef sharks, turtles, lobster, eels, and for the lucky divers eagle rays, sea horses, and batfish.
St. Kitts offers arguably the widest variety of sites including finger reefs, recent wrecks, and a variety of coral labyrinths that will capture your imagination. Top dive sites include Monkey Shoals, Anchors Aweigh, Paradise Reef, Wreck of the Corinthian, and the most popular Wreck of the River Taw. The MV River Taw is continually voted as a favorite dive site among guests due to its vibrant coral growth and the surge of macro-life activity on the night dives. Photographers should be sure to bring their macro-lenses as in St Kitts you can often spot frogfish, sea horses, and other marine life that’s considered rare in the Caribbean!
